A Report on the Awareness Programme conducted by Women Cell

MGM College of Arts and Science, Kaniyapuram

On 5th September MGM College of Arts and Science, Kaniyapuram, successfully conducted
an awareness programme organised by the Women Cell. The event was held at the college
auditorium and commenced with a prayer led by the college choir at 10 am. The programme
aimed to promote awareness on key issues affecting the student community, with a special
focus on women's empowerment, personal development and community building.

The inaugural session began with a welcome speech delivered by Ms. Pooja Krishna, the
Convenor of the Women Cell. She set the tone for the event by expressing the importance of
creating a platform for students, particularly women, to engage in meaningful conversations
about their roles in society.
Dr. Geevarghese Yohannan, Founder and Chairman of MGM Group of Educational
Institutions, followed with a benedictory address. The presidential address was delivered by
Dr. M.S Vidia Panicker, the Principal of MGM College of Arts and Science, Kaniyapuram. In
her speech, she has underscored the importance of women's roles in both academics and
society. She encouraged students to actively participate in such programmes to better
understand their responsibilities and opportunities as future leaders.

The inaugural address was presented by Ms. Anupama Mohan, who was the resource person
for the event. A renowned public relations consultant, Ms. Anupama Mohan shared her
expertise with the students on the topic of women empowerment and their engagement in
public spaces. Her insightful speech emphasized the importance of proactive participation by
women in various societal roles, including leadership and professional growth. She also
provided practical advice drawing from her own experiences on how to overcome challenges
in both personal and professional life. Ms. Anupama Mohan's knowledge-sharing session left a
significant impact on the audience, encouraging them to reflect on their potential and
contributions to society. The event also featured a felicitation speech by Dr. Prathibha R.S, the
Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) Coordinator of MGM College. She lauded the
Women Cell for its initiative in organising such a significant event and emphasised the
importance of quality assurance in educational programs aimed at personal development.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks from Ms. Ashly P. Raju, the Co-Convenor of
the Women Cell, extended her gratitude to all the dignitaries, participants and organisers for
their efforts in making the event a grand success.
